self taught oil painter, textile artist, film photographer
Xenia is a multimedia artist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, now residing in Joshua Tree, CA.
Her canvas extends beyond the traditional, where oil paint, film and textiles meet; she has merged her passion for sewing and painting, integrating these two mediums to create her signature textile paintings. Her paintings are formed by cutting individual, small shapes of raw canvas, followed by coloring and painting these independent pieces. Once dry the configuration can begin, fitting and sewing together each painted square until the final form has been fashioned.
Her work is an intersection of landscape and emotions, ocean and desert. Through her creative journey she offers a window into these diverse landscapes, weaving together narratives of the human experience and emotion.
